Hi Everyone!
I'm still reporting to you from a cafe, as I still HAVE NO INTERNET IN THE COTTAGE!!!!! I'm kinda getting annoyed by this concept. These past few days have been really busy. On Thursday evening I got roped into going to a play with the family. It was at Katie's school and preformed by the 10 year olds. Despite my doubts, the play was WONDERFUL! They did "Guys and Dolls" and all the kids in it were great! The girl that played Adelaide stole the show! Someone needs to put her on broadway!
Yesterday (Friday) Katie and Emma had play dates after school, so it was just Laura and I. We had a good time playing games (Connect 4 and Operation -in which she has her own rules that allow her to always win-no one else) and doing art stuff in the form of coloring and watercolors. While coloring, Laura also provided the best quote of the day..
She decided she wanted to make something for Emma and decided to make her an elephant. Unfortunatly, when she was cutting her drawing out, she accidently chopped off the trunk and decided to make it a pig instead. I asked her if Emma liked pigs and she replied...I'm not kidding about this either... "I don't know, but I like them, they make bacon"
hahahahahahahaha
Once all the girls were home I played with them for a bit and we got dinner for them before the guests for Claire and Nigel's dinner party arrived. Luckily I was invited! Granted, with all of the company, the girls were very difficult to get to bed, Nigel even stepped in to help, saying they were horrible. But finally we got them in and were able to join everyone downstairs for dinner. In attendance were Claire's parents, her brother, Michael, who is home for a few weeks (he works in Sudan) and his girlfriend, Britta. The dinner party was a lot of fun and I really enjoyed getting to know some of Claire's family. I was the first to depart the party and I left at a little before 11pm. Mostly because I had to be back at their house at 8 this morning and I needed somesleep!
I finished my work this morning and am enjoying a few relaxing hours before I return again tonight to babysit! wish me luck!
Today is day 2 of not snowing and I'm loving it!! While it was very little compared to Pennsylvania standards, its a different kind of snow here, also there is barely any snow equiptment because this is the first time it's snowed in Dublin in almost 14 years!! Not to mention, I'm not equipt for the snow and am really missing my warm snowboots which kept my feet very warm!!
I hope all is well with everyone!!
-Jane
