Hello again!!
I have an Irish cell phone!! Claire very, very nicely bought me one the other day! It feels good to be able to contact people... granted the only numbers I have are Claire's cell and the house, but still, it's nice (and it's pink!)
I had a short day yesterday so I decided I wanted to wander around the city and check things out. This idea seemed to worry Claire, who had already bought me a large map of Dublin. I mean the thought of a small town American girl on her own in a foreign city is a bit risky, or possibly it was the fact that she has watched me struggle for 5 minutes every morning as I try and figure out how to unlock their back door when I come into work... Either way, she kept double checking to make sure I had my cell phone and told me to call her if I wanted picked up. But I assured her I could handle it and waved as her and the girls headed to swimming and I went to look at my map. This is when, after a few minutes of searching, I discovered I couldn't find they street THEY lived on. Still determined, I put the unreadable map into my purse and headed off.
I stayed to their street (which was very long and had many shops to look at) until it ended and I was forced to cross at a very busy and scary intersection. Other than that, my exploration was fairly uneventful, I just enjoyed being outside!
When I came to the house for dinner last night, I learned how low the family's hopes were for my chances of success on my excursion because as soon as I walked in, they all cheered...
I might wander a bit more today. I'm off the rest of the evening and was actually suppossed to be shown around, but the girls are refusing to go outside because it's wet..
I hope all is well with everyone! Sorry nothing exciting has happened. If you need to get a hold of me, ask for my irish cell number, but be kind when calling. It's pay as you go...
Later

PS- The girls are doing well!
